From henceforth (we expect) we that for ever be sincere (to each other) and for generations to come keep the regulations (of the Company with south) when it will be seen that our plans and speculations will meet with luck, and we shall join in singing the "songs of great wealth" and when good profits plenty, we shall have the pleasure in conjointly hailing the "signs of progress". Hence the undermentioned regulations have been made and framed.
Article 1o The Hong Kong Opium preparing Licenses formerly farmed by Li Ink Cheung of the Chop Thing Company and the Macao Opium preparing License was formerly farmed by Lui Chon Luck, and Lui Pak of the Wan Tai Company - now it is hereby agreed that from the 12t of April (15th of the 2nd moon, Chinese) the privilege day the Opium Preparing Licenses of the her Colonies be wholly yielded up to this Company (Sun I Company) which will undertake the management of the business.
From this day henceforth whether the accounts, receipts and payments connected with the Opium preparing Licenses in Hong Kong and Macao be showing deficit or surplus, profit or loss, They shall wholly become the business of the Shareholders of this Company, but the accounts of Licence, for opium preparing of the his Colonies previous to the day of March this year (1st day of 2nd moon, Chinese) shall be paid and managed by the Chop Thing and the Wan Tai respectively.
Article 2nd The Company for farming the Opium preparing Licenses of Hong Kong and Macao is styled the Sun I Company which is divided into ten (10) shares in all, of which Chop Thing Company is entitled to six (6) shares and Wan Tai Company is entitled to four (4) shares.
